Mathematical design of a novel input device using a moving emitter

This talk is concerned with the mathematical design of a novel input/instruction device using a moving emitter. The emitter acts as a point source and can be installed on a digital pen or worn on the finger of the human being who desires to interact/communicate with the computer. The input/ instruction can be recognized by identifying the moving trajectory of the emitter performed by the human being from the collected wave field data. The identification process is modeled as an inverse source problem where one intends to identify the trajectory of a moving point source. This problem is solved by the direct sampling method and it is totally direct without any matrix inversion or regularization process. Hence, it is efficient and robust with respect to the measurement noise. Both theoretical justifications and computational experiments will be presented to verify our novel findings. This is a joint work with Jingzhi Li,Hongyu Liu and Xianchao Wang.

主讲人简介:
郭玉坤,男,哈尔滨工业大学数学系副教授,2004年毕业于吉林大学数学学院信息与计算科学专业,获理学学士学位;2010年毕业于吉林大学数学研究所计算数学专业,获理学博士学位。目前研究领域为数学物理反问题,主要方向为波动方程反散射问题的数值分析与计算。已在“Inverse Problems”、“Journal of Differential Equations”和“Journal of Computational Physics”等期刊发表学术论文二十余篇,主持完成国家自然科学基金数学天元基金项目一项,参与国家自然科学基金重大研究计划项目一项,目前主持国家自然科学基金青年基金项目一项,参与面上项目两项。曾先后应邀访问美国特拉华大学,德国威尔斯特拉斯应用数学研究所,香港浸会大学和南方科技大学等单位,进行科研合作。近五年来应邀在国内和国际学术会议上做学术报告近二十次。
